ESG Gaming and VIVERSE were proud to participate in OUTWARD, an event hosted by Eirmersive on September 11th, 2024, at the O’Reilly Theatre, Belvedere College, Dublin. The event, which was attended by Dara Calleary, Minister of State for Trade Promotion, Digital and Company Regulation, brought together industry leaders, innovators, and stakeholders to highlight the achievements of Ireland’s growing immersive technology sector.
Lee
Willows, Founder and Executive Chair of ESG Gaming, spoke about the
collaboration with VIVERSE and how they are exploring how immersive technology
might be used to reduce loneliness and social isolation and mitigate risk
factors for dementia. THE DOME, by ESG Gaming and powered by VIVERSE, is a
multi-award-winning immersive and nostalgic virtual environment that has
garnered industry recognition.
Eirmersive, the voice of Ireland’s immersive technology sector, aims to bring
together organisations and individuals from across the country to support the sector's
continued development. This comes at a critical time, with Ireland positioning
itself as a global hub for immersive technology by 2030.
Minister Calleary delivered the opening welcome address, emphasising Ireland’s
technical, creative, and academic strengths, which make the country
well-positioned to capture a share of the rapidly growing global immersive
technology market. He congratulated Eirmersive on its work to date and
reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the sector's growth.
During his attendance, Minister Calleary engaged with both ESG Gaming and VIVERSE
and heard about their collaboration.
"We would like to extend our thanks to Camille
Donegan, James Corbett, and the Eirmersive team for their continued support. Their
efforts to enable growth and collaboration within Ireland’s immersive
technology community are commendable," said John Dabill, Head of Operations
at VIVERSE Ireland.
“The Irish VR community's warmth, welcome and
passion made last night's Eirmersive launch so special. ESG Gaming
was humbled to be invited to join the launch alongside VIVERSE, the
creatives of our multi-award-winning VR experience for older people. The
opportunity to share our vision for immersive technology and engage in
purposeful conversations with leaders from across Ireland was inspirational.
ESG Gaming and VIVERSE see last night's event as the start of something
impactful for both our organisations and an opportunity to share
learning and insight and create positive social impact with local
partners,”
said
Lee Willows, ESG Gaming Founder & Executive Chair.
The evening concluded with demonstrations of immersive technology solutions
developed by Irish organisations, offering attendees an opportunity to explore
the innovative ways in which immersive technology is being applied across
industries.
