ESI Lisbon was our fifth ESI event and undoubtedly our most successful.
ESG Gaming was fortunate to be the not-for-profit partner of this event in the beautiful city of Lisbon. For the second year running, we worked alongside the gracious ESI team to support and donate the prize funds for the Film Festival. This year's worthy winner, Henry Alexander Kelly, flew in especially from California to watch his film being showcased at the MEO Arena and share his moving Lived Experience story with the audience on how gaming has helped him growing up as a teenager. Despite being a not-for-profit organisation, ESG Gaming is committed to supporting creatives within the gaming sector, so being able to donate money, time, or resources is a massive privilege for us.
The founder of ESG Gaming also joined a panel on Betting within Esports, where education and awareness for parents, as well as governance and regulatory considerations for gaming were discussed. Additionally at the Esports Leaders event ahead of ESI Lisbon, ESG Gaming chaired a roundtable on Research within Gaming with our good friend Dr Brett Abarbanel, the Executive Director of the International Gaming Institute at University of Nevada. Both the panel and roundtable presented a number of opportunities for cross-sector collaboration to create real social impact for esports.
Our dear friends James Dean, James Fraser-Murison, Nathan Edmond, and Maya Szollosy-Jancso did a fantastic job working our stand, demonstrating our virtual reality platform that we have developed in collaboration with Viverse and helping to share the vision of ESG Gaming.
Finally we were really pleased to be able to host the ‘unofficial Roof Top pre-event mixer and drinks party’ on the Sunday evening ahead of ESI Lison, were we welcomed over forty guests, all of which were able to join us for a relaxing drink and nibbles after sunset.
Uniquely
ESG Gaming’s focus is on both (i) Consumer protection within gaming and (ii)
using the power of gaming and virtual reality to reduce social isolation and
loneliness among the population aged 50 years plus. We are also keen to work
alongside partners to understand how gaming and virtual reality might also slow
down the rate of dementia through independent, high-quality evaluation and
medical trials. This social purpose makes ESG Gaming unique in the gaming,
gambling and health tech sector, and we are keen to work alongside partners who
share our focus.
