ESG Gaming has been working alongside Bournemouth University for the past eight months to undertake (i) an academic literacy review of research papers relating to emerging technology and its impact on human behaviours and (ii) co-develop and test on consumer groups a Theory of Change for our Web3 platform. This work has been undertaken to being a sharp focus as to the indented impact, outcomes and outputs from our platform for consumers. There remain a number of questions and ‘known unknowns’ that arise from emerging tech which is actually common in the market place (despite many calling it new tech). Consumer adoption, consumer behavior and the continued use of gamification and neuroscience is fraught with both opportunities and potential harms for consumers. ESG Gaming are working collaboratively to understand these opportunities and more importantly for our organisation, the (potential) harms, so we can create, test, deliver and evaluate real-world and virtual safeguards on platforms, educations and awareness. The United Kingdom are a world-leader in emerging technology. At ESG Gaming we want our country to maintain that position, but also show strong leadership in consumer protection too
