ESG Gaming
was incorporated as a not-for-profit, regulated Community Interest Company with
no shareholding in August 2021. Reaching our first year in a solid financial
position, having a sense of and starting to build our MVP, and knowing where
and how we would measure our social impact were important milestones. Therefore,
it is incredibly humbling to be at the end of year three, building upon those
initial milestones to reach this point in our journey.
We are
committed at ESG Gaming to Building Better, not bigger. What that means for us
is that we are not seeking to build a large organisation in terms of costs and
headcount but instead epitomise agile working to see what social impact we can
create from a low headcount and effective cost base. We want to employ no more
than six full-time staff, create the environment and utilise technology in a
way that would allow us to have the reach and social impact of a more
traditional organisation ten times our size. We are hugely ambitious as an
organisation, and from what we know of the market, what we are doing we are
pretty unique – in terms of building a not-for-profit organisation focused on
(i) Consumer Protection in emerging tech markets and (i) deploying products,
research and evaluation around how esports and virtual reality might reduce
loneliness and social isolation; reduce the risk factors for dementia, and
provide an alternative, drug-free prescription for depression among those aged
50 years and over.
We invite you to read our Annual Review to get a
sense of our journey over the past twelve months and see what we have planned
for the next twelve months. Kindness and humility are two qualities that unite
us and our partners at ESG Gaming. We hope you enjoy reading this Annual
Review, and we would love for this document to be a conversation starter about
how we might work together.
