On the 05 November 2021, our application to change the legal structure of ESG Corporate Ltd to a Community Interest Company (CIC) was accepted by the CIC regulator. In addition, we have changed our legal name to ESG Corporate Community Interest Company.
A Community Interest Company is a type of legal structure introduced by the United Kingdom government in 2005 under the Companies Act 2004, designed for social enterprises that want to use their profits and assets for the public good rather than private shareholders. Any surplus we generate annually will be re-invested into our CIC. In addition, our articles of association contain an asset lock to ensure our assets are donated should the company cease trading. We choose this legal structure as we have a strong belief in creating social good via a non-profit structure. ESG Corporate Community Interest Company will trade as two bespoke brands; ESG Gaming and ESG Retail which will follow in 2022/23.
